On behalf of the government and people of Sindh, I welcome all distinguished international buyers, trade visitors and exhibitors to Expo Pakistan 2005, Pakistan's very own export showcase. Expo Pakistan 2005 not only provides a platform for the local manufacturers and exporters to showcase their offerings, but also brings them together with international buyers to co-ordinate for the enhancement of their businesses.

I am very proud of the fact that Expo Pakistan 2005 is being held in Karachi, which being the commercial and industrial hub of the country, also holds varied social and cultural interests for the foreign visitors. I am of the view that Expo will not only reward our exporters with increased business opportunities, but will also open a venue to showcase our city and country to the world. I am sure that this event would not only serve to enhance the presence, but also the demand of our locally manufactured products in the international market.

I would like to complement the Export Promotion Bureau for continuing their efforts in further boosting the country's export potential, while highlighting our manufacturing capabilities.

I wish them for their hard work in making this exhibition a success and thus giving Pakistan a leading role in the region.
